It's always
slow, unsure baby steps to start –
Trembling,
cautious steps in the dark.
Then your
eyes adjust and you see the beauty,
the
vastness, the exciting and chilling complexity.
You forget
the past and forgo the future,
to allow
yourself to awaken the creature
inside you,
that rejoices in this dark night.
Until the
break of dawn – the first ray of light.
And slowly,
this world recedes to the past,
As you move
to the future steadfast.
Relishing
the memories, mourning their end
Nursing you
racing heart to mend
And embolden
itself for your next venture
Big or
small, it's always an adventure!
